At Lumenax, moving from ABRA to Odoo takes four steps: data review, system design, a clean transfer and handover. It takes 4 to 12 weeks and starts with deciding what to move, not with moving. For a firm of 6 to 20 people with a full move from the ERP, the project comes to CZK 360,000 to 770,000 according to the calculator, with data cleaning extra. Before you leave, check one thing: ABRA now offers both Aiva and Flexi, and Aiva does have a CRM. Leaving may not be the only way.
- The move has 4 steps and takes 4 to 12 weeks, starting with a data review.

- ABRA Gen is in the Product archive section; the vendor states no end of support.
- ABRA Aiva has a CRM; check before leaving because it is missing.
- Keep accounting documents 5 years, financial statements 10 years.

What ABRA offers
ABRA Software offers ABRA Flexi, a business system in the cloud, and ABRA Aiva, an ERP for mid-sized and large firms. ABRA Gen and ABRA Flores are in the Product archive section of the site. The vendor does not state an end of support there, so we have no date. If you use Gen, ask ABRA or your partner in writing how long they will support it and what they offer instead.
Aiva has a CRM with a plan for salespeople's work, a history of cooperation from the opportunity to the latest invoice, and an estimate of the chance that a deal will close. If you are leaving only because a CRM is missing, compare this path first. ABRA does not publish the price of Aiva; the plans are up to 5, up to 20 and no limit of users, and the price is on request. Flexi costs CZK 425, 1,055 or 1,375 per user per month. An hour of custom adjustments costs CZK 2,250.
Why you should leave is for you to know. Good reasons are the cost of changes, having to retype data between systems and plans that the current system does not cover. We discuss the differences between accounting programs and ERPs in the comparison of Pohoda, Money S3 and Helios.
What to move and what to leave
Not everything from ABRA has to go into the new system. The more old data you move, the more old mistakes you bring along. Lumenax therefore distinguishes three levels of transfer, each with a price:
| Level | What it contains | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Basic data | Companies and contacts, products and price lists, open quotes, orders and unpaid invoices | From CZK 25,000 |
| Data with history | Plus documents for the last two to three years and stock including batches | From CZK 60,000 |
| Full move from an ERP | Accounting history, several data sources and a balance check against the old system | From CZK 120,000 |
Cleaning faulty data, that is duplicates, missing details and inconsistent codes, is not included. Lumenax prices it after checking a sample of your data. That is why you do the data review as the first step, not the last.

The law decides what you must keep. Under Section 31 of Act 563/1991 Coll., the financial statements and annual report are kept for 10 years from the end of the accounting period, accounting documents, accounting books, stocktaking lists and the chart of accounts for 5 years. If you also use a record for tax proceedings, Section 32 says you continue after those periods so that the requirements of that proceeding are met. You therefore must not throw old records away when ABRA is switched off. You must have access to them, whether in the old system or in an archive.
How to get the data out of ABRA depends on the product. According to its price list, ABRA Flexi supports import and export of XML, JSON, CSV, PDF and ISDOC. For ABRA Gen we did not find the export format on the vendor's site; ask the partner who maintains it.
Four steps of the move
- Data review. Lumenax goes through your data and separates what works from what does not. This is where it is decided what moves.
- System design. Lumenax designs the new system around your processes, not a copy of the old one. On its ERP page it calls this a fit-gap analysis: for each process it writes whether the system covers it by configuration, by adjustment or not at all.
- Clean transfer. Only data that has value is transferred. Key people then work in a trial copy with their data until it fits.
- Handover. The system is handed over in operation and the switch happens in a quiet period.
Lumenax writes that it does not plan a long parallel run of two systems and that the old solution runs until the new system runs reliably. It gives the length of the whole project as 4 to 12 weeks depending on scope and confirms the exact date after the review.
For comparison: ABRA describes its own rollout of Aiva in ten steps and four phases: business preparation, analysis, setup with a trial run and courses for users, and supervised operation. The steps are similar; ABRA simply has more of them and each has its own name.
- Data reviewWhat works is separated from what does not.
- System designAround your processes, not a copy of the old one.
- Clean transferOnly data that has value is transferred.
- 4 to 12 weeksHandoverThe system is handed over in operation; the switch is meant for a quiet period.
What the move costs
| Firm | What is transferred | Calculator estimate |
|---|---|---|
| 6 to 20 people (6 to 15 users) | CRM, accounting and warehouse, full move from an ERP, basic links to surrounding systems | CZK 360,000 to 770,000 |
| 21 to 50 people (16 to 30 users) | CRM, accounting and warehouse, full move from an ERP, basic links to surrounding systems | CZK 570,000 to 1,280,000 |
| 21 to 50 people | Plus production and standard links to surrounding systems | CZK 650,000 to 1,480,000 |
The calculator project does not include data cleaning. A deadline within 6 weeks makes it 15% more expensive according to the calculator. Lumenax promises a fixed price after the review. Running is separate: CZK 3,400 a month for the server plus CZK 249 per full user, that is CZK 7,135 a month for 15 users and CZK 10,870 for 30. The Odoo licence costs CZK 0. A breakdown is in the article on the cost of Odoo.
Risks and what to do about them
This list is our judgement from projects, not a quote from the vendor.
- Adjustments in ABRA. Write a list of everything you adjusted in ABRA: fields, templates, approval steps. For each adjustment decide whether the new system does it itself, whether you want it again, or whether it disappears. An hour of adjustments costs CZK 3,300 at Lumenax, or from CZK 2,200 for larger volumes.
- Chart of accounts and cost centres. Transferring the chart of accounts is work for your accountant, not a programmer. Under Section 31 the chart is an accounting record with a 5-year period.
- Duplicates and old data. Clean before the transfer, not after.
- Timing. Switch at the start of a month or quarter, when the books are cleanest. Agree it with your accountant in advance.
- People. Whoever has worked in ABRA for years will want to see their procedure in the new system. Let key people into the trial copy before you launch.
Common questions
How long does moving from ABRA take?
Lumenax states 4 to 12 weeks depending on scope and confirms the date after the review. Many adjustments, complex links to other systems and data cleaning slow it down.
What happens to historical data in ABRA?
Act 563/1991 Coll. requires keeping accounting documents and books for 5 years and the financial statements for 10 years. Old data does not have to go into the new system, but you must have access to it. You choose the level of transfer from the price list above.
Do we have to stop operations during the move?
Lumenax writes that the old solution runs until the new system runs reliably and that it does not plan a long parallel run. The switch is planned for a quiet period.
We adjusted ABRA heavily. Will that complicate the move?
Yes, adjustments are the biggest variable. List them and decide for each whether it will be repeated. The calculator does not account for them; it counts only basic links to surrounding systems. You get a fixed price after the review.
Has ABRA Gen been discontinued?
ABRA lists ABRA Gen in the Product archive section. We did not find an end-of-support date on the site. Ask ABRA in writing.
